It should be noted that the attempts at a New York style smoking ban coming to New Jersey has been killed. The only thing left is Restaurants and Casinos smoking section can only be 20%. The bill was watered down in the Assembly which is controlled by Democrats, The sad part is NJ Democrats are appartenly more Conservative than most of the Republicans New York, Delaware and Maine.

They have done that in some residential communities already here in NJ too.

Example, in North Caldwell, you can't smoke at in front of your house. So, if you are a nonsmoker and have guests, any of them smokes, they have to go to the backyard to have a cig.

Yur kidding me right?....Ill gladly come by and smoke in front of yur house...lets see if I can get them to send out a SWAT team.

I live in North Brunswick. The town I'm referencing is North Caldwell.

As more and more of these take effect you will see more and more of the natural reaction to prohibition.

Al-Qaeda has already made a mint in North Carolina selling bootleg cigarettes. You'll have unlicensed bars operating (with all the hazards that entails). Smuggling across borders, turf wars between smugglers, more and more government resources going towards interdiction, etc., etc.

(oh, in reference to the smoking summons. That is the cuteness of the law, see, if Aunt Doe is seen smoking at my sister in laws...it is my sister in law that gets the summons, nice huh?)

I'm one of those people who is particularly sensitive to second-hand smoke. My contact lenses start to bother me, my nose closes up, and I become pretty uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I find it an affront to freedom to force bar and restaurant owners to prohibit smoking in their establishments. I stay away from places that allow smoking, for the above-mentioned reasons, but I believe that people should have the right to go there, just as much as I have the right to stay home. Let tavern and restaurant owners choose whether or not ot allow smoking in their establishments, and let the marketplace decide their relative success.

Notice in all articles on the subject If you are on the side of the Anti-smoking than you are a group or an activist but of course if you are on the pro-property rights side then you are a lobbyist.
